Since the launch of Cross River Coffee Altstadt, our cafe breathes amazing paintings from an African artist. This stands with our goal to bring Africa not just through the mouth to our hearts – but also the soul.
This summer, our café will become a canvas for new conversations and creativity. Together with Thabiso Dakamela we are bringing the experience of wonderful art creation to our shop. Expect more than just paintings — a chance to connect, explore, create and enjoy something new together.

THABISO DAKAMELA
Thabiso has practiced art professionally in Johannesburg and abroad for nearly a decade. His work draws on everyday experiences and personal memories, often reflecting different aspects of the self — from the public persona to the private inner world.
He explores self-awareness, spirituality, strength, and vulnerability, emphasizing the value of introspection alongside the warmth of companionship.

EXHIBITION ‚IN MY NATIVE LANGUAGE‘
Experience art that tells unspoken stories. We are happy to host the exhibitions series „In My Native Language“ by Thabiso Dakamela.
This series of exhibitions brings together a body of work that is portraying and communicating Thabisos indigenous culture, emotions and experience, aiming to enter into dialogue with his audience.
New works created during his time here will be presented in the final exhibition.
